First, what does junk food actually mean? The term junk classifies anything that contains harmful synthetic ingredients. Foods that are processed packaged and preserved using substances that are far from healthy. These food items can be found anywhere from schools, to grocery stores and even hospitals. Junk food is everywhere, and it’s damaging your health.
1. It Makes You Sick
Eating junk food on a regular basis can lead to life threatening illnesses like diabetes, obesity, and hear disease. Some harmful chemicals used to preserve are even directly correlated to the development of various cancers.
2. It Makes You Gain Weight
Junk food high in sugar, sodium, grease and dairy all contribute to directly to excessive and rapid weight gain. Eating unhealthy fried and packaged food choices slows down the metabolism and clogs arteries.
3. It Makes You Break Out
Greasy foods are difficult for the body to break down and synthesize because of the excess grease and added hormonal ingredients. This can cause you to break out in cystic acne and effect hormone levels in the body.
4. It Causes Depression
Sugary foods that rapidly increase serotonin levels also cause intense sugar crashes. Experiencing these crashes regularly by constantly eating foods high in sugar can lead to depression and anxiety.
