The Best Snacks for a Busy Schedule
Nutritious snacking is a great way to make sure that you’ve got enough nutrients and energy to keep you powered throughout the way, and it’s an easy way to cut sugar packed processed snacks out of your diet. Here are a few simple snacks you can try that are great for busy, on the go life styles. They’re packed with nutrients, and keep your stomach full without packing on the pounds.
Almonds and Cocoa Nibs
Nuts are the perfect snack option for busy bodies who can’t seem to find the time to eat right and satisfy cravings. Almonds, like most nuts are high in healthy fats and protein. They’re a great way of providing the body with energy and keeping your stomach full. Best of all nuts are easily transported. It takes a minute to throw some in a zip lock bag, making it the perfect quick and easy healthy snack. Cocoa nibs are made from natural crushed raw cocoa. Cocoa is used to make chocolate, but in its raw form it’s packed with nutrients.
They aren’t just for body builders. Protein bars are a small, portable source of proteins. It’s literally a packaged small bar that you could eat sitting down, while running into the office, or even discretely under a desk. Protein bars generally contain enough calories to be considered a proper meal (although I wouldn’t recommend replacing meals with bars.)
Unlike most fruit, grapes do not completely harden when frozen. Grapes are a tasty source of healthy sugars that can provide a boost of energy in the middle of the day, and satisfy sugar cravings. Freezing them is really just to keep them cold so they don’t squish or get warm in your bag through out the day. They’ll still be soft enough to bite through, and cold enough to eat.
Shakes, Smoothies, and Juices
The absolute fastest way to get nutrients into the body is in liquid form, because the body can absorb it much quicker than solid foods. It’s doesn’t take long at all for the essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals to enter the blood stream once being consumed. Not to mention drinking is probably the most efficient way to get some food into you when you’re busy.
Remember, no matter how busy you are, you’ve got to stop and refuel. With these quick and easy snacks, you should be able to maintain a healthy diet without packing on the pounds.
